Choosing what data to restore:
Always be prepared!

In Outlook Express Backup, the user has a choice between 5 backup item groups, these are:

1- Microsoft Outlook Express Data:

Single or multiple Microsoft Outlook Express identities data can be restored easily by just selecting the identity-related data from inside each identity.
Outlook Express data that can be backed up and restored include:
Mail folders, Message Rules, all accounts, Preferences, Block-Sender list, Signatures and Stationary.

Before choosing the backed up identity to restore the user must select an identity on his machine to restore to - Genie Outlook Express Backup will create a dummy identity if the user chooses to, to use in synchronizing his data, otherwise the new data will replace the old in the chosen identity.

The user will be able to synchronize between his old and new e-mails through a user-friendly wizard that will guide him through the e-mail restore process.

You can view emails inside the backup file without having to restore them first. This new feature allows you to quick-view your emails. You can even “copy” the text of the email and you can view images, media, etc. To view a folder, just select the folder and click the “View Folders e-mails” button.

The user can also choose to restore a single e-mail from a backup file, the steps for doing so are:

1- Select backup file
2- Prcoeed to the "Choosing which data to restore" step
3- In "Outlook Express Data" chose the mail identity
4- From "Outlook Express Root" choose the folder holding the e-mail
5- Press the "View Folder e-mails" button
6- Choose e-mail
7- Press "Save e-mail as .ml" to save e-mail to file with the extension eml
8- You can restore the e-mail to Outlook Express by drag-dropping the eml file to any desired folder there

The user can restore Windows Favorites that were backed up using Outlook Express Backup by checking the “Windows Favorites” checkbox under “My Profile.” The number of favorites to be restored will be shown in “Number of Backed up Favorites” field.

3- Internet Explorer Settings
Internet Explorer settings include:
+Internet Explorer Settings (General, Security, Privacy, etc...)
+Internet Explorer Cookies

4- Windows Address Book (WAB):
The standard Windows Address Book is a file with the extension of .WAB.

Outlook Express Backupr offers the user the option to view the Address Book file before the actual restore process starts by pressing the “View backed Up WAB Data".

Outlook Express Backup also gives the user the option to save the existing address book before restoring the backed up address book by choosing the "Save Backup Copy of Existing Address Book” option.

Note:
There is always one address book on the system even if multiple identities are created on that system.

5- My Files:

The user can view the files he backed up by selecting "My Files" checkbox and he can then select which file to restore.

The user can select and change the restore location on his machine.

When restoring any file that is already on the user's machine, the user can select one of the three following options from the Settings for file restoring:
1- Do not replace the file on the computer with the restored file.
2- Replace the file on the computer with the restored file only if the file on the computer is older.
