| Q: Does Genie Timeline perform backup on a file base or cluster base? |
| |
| A: Genie Timeline performs backup on a file base meaning that its disk defragmentation friendly; changed files will only be taken into backup after this operation. |

| Q: What if I modify files on a different PC, login user, or when logging into safe mode will it detect changes? |

| A: Yes, after you reboot into your machine Genie Timeline will automatically scan your PC for changed, and newly added files. |

| Q: What happens when my drive becomes full? |
| |
| A: If the free space becomes low, Genie Timeline will automatically delete older versions of files taken into backup to free space. The backup will stop when there is less than 500 MB free space and will generate a warning for the user to take action. |

| Q: Do I have to configure backup for each user? |
| A: No, one backup scans for all photos, outlook, music, documents, etc… for all user accounts. However if you have Outlook Express or Windows Mail on multiple accounts, you will need to create a backup for each account or select the files from My Computer Tab |

| Q: How often are files monitored and when does the backup run? |
| |
| A: Genie Timeline detects changes as soon as they are made. Changed files will be backed up every half hour. |

| Q: If I change my backup drive can I restore files from older backups? |

| A: Yes, go to Restore my data in the main page> Click on Restore an older backup> browse for the older backup, then follow the restoration steps. |

| Q: Can I backup files from network locations or external drives? |

| A: Yes, Genie Timeline can monitor changes and backup files that reside on network locations or external drives. |

| Q: Are there any special requirements for the backup drive? |

| A: No special requirements; however, Genie Timeline recommends an external or network drive with plenty of free space. |

| Q: Why is my drive listed as not recommended? |
| |
| A: Either the drive is a local hard disk; or has insufficient amount of free space. Genie Timeline recommends to backup to an external location with plenty of free space. Not recommended drives can be selected as a backup destination as well. |

| Q: Can I turn off my PC while the first backup is running? |

| A: Yes, Genie Timeline will resume where it left off without any problems. You can also turn off your pc on any backup run. |

| Q: Do I need to close my Open files so they can be backed up? |
| |
| A: No, Genie Timeline uses Microsoft’s Volume Shadow Copy Service to backup open and locked files so that there is no need to close the programs you are working on. |

| Q: Are there any limitations to the free trial of Genie Timeline? |

| A: Genie Timeline free download version is a 30-day trial build. During this time; all features of Genie Timeline can be used. After 30 days, you will need to purchase a license. |
