With its wizard based interface, you can go through the steps of creating a backup with the assurance that you have done it correctly. Quick help can be found on each wizard page for guidance. GBM Agent resides in the system tray (notification tray), allowing access to many of the backup functions, but without the need to open GBM 8.0 itself. Backup and Restore by a simple double-click Run your backups using shortcuts created on the desktop. Familiar data selection interface Folder and file selections in GBM use the same style as Windows Explorer. No need of backup media to view backup contents: Using GBM, you can view your backed up files without the need of the actual backup media to read from. This is possible using GBM’s Catalog. The Catalog is organized by backup job and run. You can view, using the Catalog, all files, new files, modified files, and deleted files. Extract or run files directly from the Catalog instead of going to the restore Wizard. You can carry out Catalog Advanced searches and filter output and wildcards, by name, size, or date modified. This makes it easier to locate the specified file you particularly want amongst all the backup runs available.

Storage Optimization. Make the most out of what you have
Save space: If the amount of storage available for backup jobs is becoming an issue of concern for you, it is possible to either increase the level of compression to the maximum available (level 10) or purge old backups. For example, if you only want to save 5 copies of My Documents, copy #1 becomes copy #2 and the new backup becomes copy #1, while copy number #5 is effectively copy #6 and so it is deleted. So you always have only 5 copies of My Documents. This means that you can manage your storage space more efficiently and effectively and never run out of storage space without forewarning. Moreover, Mirror and the backup type called Incremental is also a great option to backup changed files yet also limit how much space is utilized to backup on each media by using fixed split size.
